In the previous entry, I’ve introduced to you the robust and vigorous Certina DS Queen Lady’s watch. Contrast to that, I will unveil to you a rather peaceful one in the below. It is the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch, a watch released by the brand to commemorate its 220th anniversary. Let’s take a look.
As suggested by its name, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch features a blue dial. The blue color is sunray brushed to bring a sobering look of the dial. It ensures the indications of the hours, minutes and seconds through three centralized hands. The chronograph functions are showcased by two sub-dials at three and nine o’clock of the dial. The sub-dials are ensured with great readability. The organized indexes and the look of the tachymeter scale further enhance the peaceful look of the dial.
Housing the blue dial is a 40 mm white gold case. The case features a finished surface. The front of the case is covered by a strong anti-reflective sapphire crystal while the back of it is made of transparent glass. The crown at three o’clock is accompanied by two push pieces at two and four o’clock respectively. The watch case of the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch is able to resist water to 30 meters.
Seen through the transparent case back is a sophisticated hand-wound Girard-Perregaux GP030CO movement. The movement is composed of 338 units among which 38 are jewels. The jewels give beauty to the movement to a great level. The movement is able to reserve power to 36 hours.
The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch is made a good companion on the wrist through a black alligator leather strap which is extremely comfortable for one to wear. The strap is closed with a white gold buckle which makes quite a match to the white gold case.
Enjoy the companion of the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Blue Dial Chronograph watch.
